Following her PhD here in planning at the Bartlett, Prof Dina Vaiou has taught in the National Technical University in Athens, focusing throughout on the interaction of the city with gender and latterly with the migrations which have been so crucial in changing Athens and other parts of Greece. She’s also been instrumental in sustaining a strong community of PhD students and young researchers and in challenging the dominance of Anglo-American language, ideas and practices in urban studies, fostering publication in smaller languages like Greek. She served on the editorial board of IJURR.
