In our department we run various careers talks and workshops embedded in your degree throughout the year to help you develop key skills and improve your knowledge. In addition, UCL's team of experienced career professionals are dedicated to supporting all current UCL students to help you find the right path to ensure success in your future career. UCL Careers provide support to help you find graduate jobs or further study positions and advise you on the opportunities you have during your time at UCL. From your first day at UCL and up to three years after you graduate, you can access bespoke one-to-one appointments, career events and activities programme featuring employers and alumni, confidence-boosting insights, online resources, and opportunities to increase your employability.

My time at UCL and the Bartlett school gave me a solid academic foundation and practical knowledge based on the MSc curriculum. Panel interviews, site visits and industry events organised by UCL Careers and the Bartlett School helped me gained key industry knowledge by going through interesting and complex case studies. This included visiting the King’s Cross and a number of work sites in City, as well as flying to Berlin to learn about their urban planning success and failure." - Jeffrey Chiu, International Real Estate and Planning MSc graduate

Careers events

Students at the Bartlett will have access to a mix of Faculty-wide and departmentally specific support and activities to bolster their career development. Open across the Faculty, this includes a programme of lively industry panel discussions and interactive workshops, spotlighting the key sectors graduates typically venture into such as construction, consultancy, commercial property and urban planning and development. In addition, the Bartlett’s Building a Better Future Consultancy Project gives students a unique opportunity to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to tackle a real world challenge the built environment is grappling with, equipping students with the in-demand skills sought after by employers. Featured organisations in this programme include global consultancies such as BuroHappold, Hoare Lea, AtkinsRealis to burgeoning start-ups and SMEs as well as local councils and not-for-profit organisations such as C40 Cities, Greater London Authority and London authorities.

UCL careers also host a number of general skills sessions to prepare you for seeking employment.
