Digital tickets are being introduced for journeys between the UCL Here East campus and Stratford Underground or Stratford International stations to better manage the service.
The Shuttle Bus will continue to be free of charge to use by UCL students, staff, contractors and guests, but you will need to be registered to use the service and verify your identity through the Here East Shuttle App.
All current student and staff who are based predominantly at Here East will be automatically preregistered, and will receive an email during the week commencing 10 February 2025 asking them to register their details and set up an account.
Once they have confirmed their details, they will be asked to provide a selfie and photo of their UCL ID pass to verify their identity to ensure valid use of the service.
Once registered and verified, they will be able to access a QR code within the App which can then be scanned on boarding the Shuttle Bus and be used as the ticket for the journey.
The App will also provide access to real-time shuttle bus tracking, timetable and live departure times, as well as a feature showing how busy each shuttle is.
Passengers without a pre-registered and authorised ticket will be required to pay £1.50 per journey through contactless payment only.
UCL students not normally based at Here East, but who still wish to use the service, can contact their course administrator to request to be registered.
Existing UCL staff and contractors who aren’t normally based at Here East will need to email hereeast-reception@ucl.ac.uk to request to be registered.
UCL guest tickets can be made available by a host who is a current UCL staff member. The host will need to provide dates and expected guest numbers for appropriate arrangements to be made. More information on how to set up UCL guest tickets will follow in due course. In the interim if you are expecting guests and wish to request tickets, please email hereeast-reception@ucl.ac.uk.
