Overview
The Bartlett ECR Committee met with Professor Jacqui Glass recently at The Bartlett Faculty Office to gain valuable insight on how the committee both sits within the Faculty, and how best to support and engage with ECRs across The Bartlett.
The ECR committee consists of ECRs from across all of The Bartlett’s schools and institutes which are invested in helping create a space that highlights the interdisciplinary nature of the work that researchers undertake across the Faculty, as well as offering a platform to share the challenges and successes of all ECRs at The Bartlett.
The Dean was delighted to meet with the ECR Committee members.
“This important new committee has been created with the express purpose of helping The Bartlett's Early Career Researchers to thrive. We have a responsibility to our developing colleagues to welcome their voices and work collaboratively with them, all in a supportive and inspiring academic environment. I warmly encourage all early career colleagues across the faculty to join this fast-growing network of their peers, and I look forward to supporting them and their priorities."
Join the committee
The committee are currently recruiting new members to join as Communications Co-Leads and Events Co-Leads, and encourage any ECR interested in being involved to get in touch via the Teams channel or email. Further information about the roles can be found on The Bartlett ECR SharePoint page.
“Being a member of the Bartlett ECR Committee gives me an opportunity to contribute to shaping and strengthening ECR development and experience in the face of rapidly evolving higher education and research landscapes. A vibrant ECR community is essential to the Bartlett’s sustained success, and the ECR network can play a significant role in facilitating this, such as through interdisciplinary collaboration and professional development.”
Next steps
The committee are planning their first event, to take place in the Autumn of 2025 and will be inviting ECRs from across The Bartlett to help develop the Committee Charter, which will outline the mission of the network and plan out a programme of events and objectives for the network.
