UKCMB delivers the second International Moisture in Buildings (ICMB) conference in UCL Here East

The UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings (UKCMB) held the second International Moisture in Buildings hybrid conference on 3rd and 4th July 2023 at UCL's campus in the Olympic Park, London.

For two days, over 100 participants took part in discussing the latest developments in the field, with topics including:

• Monitoring and modelling of moisture in buildings
• Ventilation
• Airtightness
• Moisture in existing buildings and retrofit and in historic/traditional buildings,
• Materials performance and building decay
• Indoor mould growth
• The impact of moisture in buildings on health and wellbeing

A line-up of expert keynote speakers including Dr Robyn Pender, Prof. Juha Vinha, Prof Juha Pekkanen, Prof Alexandra Troi, Dr Anne Mette Madsen, Lynne Sullivan and Tabitha Binding shared their expertise in the field. There was also a wide variety of sessions on offer wherein colleagues in the industry shared their knowledge and expertise.

The team also delivered a joint seminar with Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and ran tours of The UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering laboratory at Here East, as part of the programme. The event included multiple networking opportunities and a selection of poster presentations by current students and researchers with the Institute.
