The School is saddened to announce the passing of Professor John Brian Parr, in early January 2023. John came to BSP as an Honorary Professor in 2016, after his retirement from the University of Glasgow, and in the last 6 years was a constant presence in the academic and social life of the department, and seen by many as a mentor.
He dedicated his academic career to the field of regional sciences, and there is a fitting obituary in the webpages of the Regional Science Association International summarising his academic achievements and personal qualities, for which he will be much missed.
