Bartlett Outreach opens 'Walking The City' applications

Applications are now open for The Bartlett Outreach's free, 7-week 'Walking The City' summer course.

Applications for The Bartlett Outreach's free, 7-week 'Walking The City' summer course are now open. Created in collaboration with STORE projects, students will discover how trainers are made, what materials are used, and where they are produced. They will also have the opportunity to design and make their very own pair of shoes guided by some of the best architects and designers working in London.

The aim of this course is to introduce participants to a wide range of ideas and processes that can be found in an undergraduate course at The Bartlett School of Architecture.

Eligibility

To attend, participants should be: 

  • attending a non-selective UK state school
  • currently in Year 11 or 12
  • on track to meet the minimum entry requirements to study for an undergraduate degree at The Bartlett
  • have achieved or predicted a Grade 5/C or above in GCSE English and Mathematics
  • keenly interested in the built environment.

Dates

First In-person sessions:
  • Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July
Online sessions: 
  • Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 July 
  • Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 July 
  • Tuesday 19 Thursday 21 July 
  • Monday 25 and Thursday 28 July 
Workshop sessions
  • Friday 8-Wednesday 13 August 
  • Exhibition event: Wednesday 13 August 

Application deadline

The application deadline is Monday 6 June, 23:45 BST. We will inform you of the outcome of your application by 20 June.
