Each year, the MSc students who take the module on ‘Energy, Environment and Resources in Developing Countries’ are asked to write a 500-word blog about a topic of their choice. The aim is to provide students with an opportunity to write for a non-specialist audience, and to write about some of the biggest energy and resource challenges faced by developing countries – and the world in general.
Module conveners, Dr Julia Tomei and Jim Watson, explained:
As module leads, Jim and I are always amazed by the diversity of the topics and the quality of the writing. This year, students wrote about everything from women in forest conservation in Mexico to energy security in the Balkans. In this post, we publish the three blogs that received the highest marks and want to say well done to all our students, especially to Matthew, David and Harri!
