As the first ever cohort navigate this new course in a global pandemic, it is clear more than ever that digital technology will have a greater presence in the built environment.
The MSc Digital Engineering Management (DEM) focuses on how digitalisation influences the management of engineering, building upon the premise that technology is a socio-technical construct and because digitalisation is not constant but continuously evolving, this course provides tools in organisational management, project management and engineering management to address challenges from digital transformation.
The crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic has shown the importance of digital technologies, which are unbounded, in transforming our lives and workplaces. Various industries are being called to rapidly adapt to the new norm and this need makes the scope of this course more relevant.
Consistent with the interdisciplinary nature of the MSc in Digital Engineering Management, the new cohort comes from ten countries and has a balanced mix of industry experience from across various sectors.

From inception, the pedagogical underpinnings of the MSc DEM were based on viewing social systems and digital technology as intertwined. Our course team has worked very hard to teach online in both synchronous and asynchronous modes, and our students have already done amazing job in their coursework. We are delighted with their progress and really looking forward to their promising next steps to bring the industry a step closer to its digital future.”
