  • FABRICATE Book Achieves 184,000 in Download Figures

In April 2020, as the pandemic set in, FABRICATE 2020 moved online. One year on, and ten years since the 2011 launch of the peer-reviewed international conference, latest figures show that downloads of the FABRICATE book series have reached 184,000.

The figure marks an increase of 80,000 downloads in the last year, including 26,000 specifically for last year’s edition, FABRICATE 2020: Making Resilient Architecture (UCL Press, 2020).

FABRICATE 2020 was co-organised by The Bartlett School of Architecture, Swinburne University of Technology and Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning. Previous years were hosted and co-hosted with University of Stuttgart (2017), and ETH (2014). The triennial conference and book bring together pioneers in design and making from across the fields of architecture, construction, engineering, manufacturing, materials technology and computation, to explore how digital fabrication impacts the future of architecture, engineering and construction.

Produced in hard-cover and as a digital download, FABRICATE 2020 was the fourth edition, and featured cutting-edge built projects and work-in-progress from both academia and practice. The 2020 edition achieved a record average of 2229 downloads per month, with downloads of the series reaching 8203 in March 2021. The event will run again in 2023.
