Patrick and Sabine’s practice, StorpWeber Architects, collaborated with their students in Unit PG13 and the Friends of Harlesden Town Garden from 2018 to 2019 to build a new community space in Harlesden Town Garden.
Harlesden Town Garden was established over five years on a dilapidated site that was previously responsible for more than 50% of all anti-social behaviour and crime in the area.
Together, they undertook extensive engagement with local residents and developed and built a new space that could be used by all members of the community.
Engaging with real communities and working with real-life issues is at the heart of the ethos of Unit PG13. Over the last 6 years our students engaged with communities in Camden, Newham, Park Royal, East Tilbury, and as far as Chile. Students gain a skill set that is invaluable in today’s professional environment.
