Congratulations to Thomas Keel (MSc Spatial Data Science and Visualisation) who has jointly been awarded the GIScRG dissertation prize 2019 from the Royal Geographical Society. The prize includes a one year RGS-IBG PG Fellowship.
Thomas’ work is entitled, "Can we predict why people travel within a city? A study analysing the spatial and temporal characteristics of travel intention within Montréal, Canada." Thomas made use of Volunteered Geographic Information collected through a travel survey application to then model spatial and temporal characteristics of travel.
This year all our nominations for the RGS awards have been successful. Well done to the students and supervisors! Special thanks to Dr Andrew Maclachlan who has co-ordinated the prize nominations.
