The Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment (EPEE) MSc students were tasked with writing a blog on a topic related to the Energy, Environment and Resources in Developing Countries Module.
The exercise aimed to provide the students an opportunity to communicate to a non-specialist audience and the best three were published by the UK Energy Resource Centre.
One of the module conveners, Dr Julia Tomei, explained:
We were really impressed by all of the blogs written by the students. Not only did the blogs touch on a wide range of topics – they discussed everything from as heating demand in China to power shortages in Lebanon and cobalt mining in the Congo – but they were of a really high standard! Here, we publish the three best blogs – congratulations to Vivek, Molly and Sebastian!
The three best blogs were:
- Hidden truths of ecotourism: Colombian case study by Vivek Parekh.
- Carbon Taxes, Brazil and the Amazon by Sebastian Spiteri.
- Why we need to talk about energy access and gender by Molly Tinker.
