The role will last for a duration of three months and consist of undertaking a range of research activities for a dynamic project exploring farming livelihoods and designing citizen led prosperity metrics.
Successful applicants will be involved in three different areas of work:
- Gain practical experience of conducting research by working with named researchers in PROCOL Kenya.
- Undertake their own research with the assistance of a named mentor usually leading into developing a plan for a Masters or PhD.
- Assist with the administration of the BIEA including online reading groups focused on key texts in African studies, and online workshops and seminars.
Successful candidates will have a strong academic record, experience of studying/researching Africa, and a clear interest in developing their own research. They should also be able to show significant initiative and be equally adept at working alone or as part of a larger online team. Due to COVID-19 and associated social distancing and travel restrictions, all activities will be carried out on-line.
