On January 21, IIPP Honorary Professor Francesca Bria was appointed President of CDP Venture Capital SGR – National Innovation Fund, the newly created Italian Innovation Fund which aims to accelerate the growth of the Italian venture capital ecosystem.
On January 21, IIPP Honorary Professor Francesca Bria was appointed President of CDP Venture Capital SGR – National Innovation Fund, the newly created Italian Innovation Fund which aims to accelerate the growth of the Italian venture capital ecosystem.
As President, Francesca will be able to help the fund achieve their objectives to:- Expand direct and indirect investments
- Promote the creation of new investment tools
- Support the overall growth of the venture capital market
- Foster contact between start-ups and companies in which the Cdp Group participates
This newly appointed post will go alongside her work as Adviser to the United Nations on digital cities and digital rights as well as her work as Adviser for the European Commission on Innovation Policy.
Through her work as Honorary Professor at IIPP, Francesca explores themes of digital innovation as it pertains to the municipal experience in her lecture Smart Cities and Digital Transformation: The Municipal Experience. This lecture is part of the Creative Bureaucracies module of IIPP’s MPA programme, providing students with in-depth understanding of innovation in economic, technology and organisations—alongside cutting-edge thinking around public administration and governance.
CDP Venture Capital SGR - National Innovation Fund was created to accelerate the growth of the Italian Venture Capital ecosystem and bring it, for the size of the capital invested and for the number and quality of the operators present, to the level of the best European countries.
