Watch UCL's Smart Energy and the Built Environment MSc on YouTube.

I’m delighted to announce this innovative new programme. Every one of our key stakeholders – from the international energy agency, through the UK government, the energy regulator, innovation and infrastructure public bodies, large and small companies, to civil society organisations – all tell us how the buildings sector is simulataneously the key to a smart decarbonised energy system and the hardest problem to solve. This interdisciplinary MSc will give you the skills and insights to help implement solutions to this critical issue.

It is really exciting to be launching this new MSc. The transformation of our energy systems to zero carbon will forge a new relationship between demand and supply, where flexibility in energy demand plays a critical role. SEBE MSc will be at the cutting edge of this new field and will bring together the latest research developments with practical applications. I’m looking forward to welcoming our new students, and the discussions, analysis and interdisciplinary solutions we will explore on smart energy and the built environment.
