This week, The Bartlett Outreach Team announced an exciting new project in collaboration with outreach organisation Matt + Fiona.

Design Unlimited aims to empower young people to physically realise the ideas in their imaginations and open their eyes to the potential of a career in architecture, planning, construction and other design industries. The programme is open to all London state schools, with a focus on students in years 7 – 9.

Through a series of workshops, students will develop the brief and designs for an installation or furniture. The brief will be determined by the students themselves and the workshops will take place in the spring term and will take place in the school and at UCL.

The Bartlett is excited to work on this project together with Matt + Fiona, a collaborative venture between architect Matthew Springett and educator Fiona MacDonald, built on a long history of working together on architectural education initiatives.

Through their collaborations, they offer unique, hands-on education programmes for children and young adults inspired by place. The programme will take students on a journey through a real-life design and build process.
