UCL Here East to host international 3D Metrology Conference

17 October 2019

The fourth 3D Metrology Conference (3DMC 2019), will take place in the UK for the first time at Plexal and UCL at Here East, from 5 - 7 November 2019.

This international conference and exhibition is dedicated to the development and application of 3D metrology, a technology typically used to measure the 3D shape and size of manufactured objects such as car body components and aircraft wings, as well as, cultural heritage artefacts and buildings. The event brings together industrial end-users, researchers and equipment suppliers to encourage knowledge transfer and promote best practice.

The 3DIMPact Group at UCL has contributed to the conference organisation and will directly support the event hosting workshops in the UCL at Here East auditorium and demonstrations in the robotics lab.

Organisations including Werkzeugmaschinenlabor, Sigma3D, GOM and IK4 Tekniker will deliver workshops and demonstrations on laser tracking, targetless photogrammetry and ScanBox. UCL’s Stuart Robson and Vijay Pawar will show a snake-arm robot under photogrammetric (camera-based) control and indoor drones, potentially a flexible platform system for cameras and scanners.

Tickets are still available for this 3 day event.
