Recent Architecture MArch graduate Ivo’s work will serve as a prelude to the Digital Turn exhibition, which explores how we can better imagine, create and build living spaces by combining the physical and digital worlds.
Ivo developed Semblr whilst studying at The Bartlett and was awarded a commendation at the RIBA President’s Medals 2017. The project suggests a recyclable material system of timber and steel bricks that are designed with algorithms and assembled robotically. Using this system, Ivo proposes a new model of ‘social housing’ that would be sustainable and run with almost no marginal costs thanks to the fully automated construction process.
