ESDA is the first course of it’s kind in the UK and will equip students with the data science skills required to analyse and extract insights from data as well as the domain expertise in Energy Systems necessary to use these skills to tackle problems of sustainability and drive the transition to a decarbonised energy industry. The course has received broad support from a range of major industry bodies and is recognised as meeting a key skills gap and the industry's need for energy literate data scientists.

The Energy Systems Catapult is one of a network of elite technology and innovation centres set up by Innovate UK. We are very pleased to see how the Energy Systems and Data Analytics (ESDA) MSc programme is focused on developing the energy analysts of the future. It thus addresses a key skills gap in the Energy industry for graduates with both domain expertise in energy systems and also cutting-edge data analytics skills.
