The Urban Academy (UA) is a strategic collaboration network between the City of Helsinki, University of Helsinki and Aalto University that combines interdisciplinary research, education and city development within the fields of urban sciences, urban planning and urban design.
The role of the Board is to act as international forum
• for academic and inspirational discussions on urban issues
• for sharing experience and knowledge on urban research and development
• for sharing experience on city + university partnerships
The Advisory Board supports UA by advising and guiding its operation and often acting as partners in planning and launching international research projects.
In February, Mike gave a presentation to the Urban Academy Advisory Board on The Science of Cities, as part of the Complex Urban Futures seminar.
