We are delighted to announce that Juliano Denicol, a C&PM PhD Candidate, has been awarded the highly prestigious Thesis Research Grant from Project Management Institute (PMI) to support his doctoral studies. Juliano’s research is one of the few in the world to receive PMI’s investment in a very competitive selection, judged by a committee of world-leading academics and practitioners.
Juliano’s PhD explores the role of owner/operator organisations and its interface with the supply chain in megaprojects. The study will consider the experiences of five UK megaprojects that represent an investment of more than £70 billion: Heathrow Terminal 5, London Olympics 2012, Crossrail, Thames Tideway Tunnel and High Speed 2.
Considering the importance of megaprojects for the global economy and the amount of investment forecasted for the next decades (USD 57 trillion), it is critical to explore new delivery model frameworks to complete those projects on time, within budget, to scope.
