Sophia Psarra with PhD students Cauê Capillé, Kimon Krenz and Fani Kostourou are organising an international seminar RIO@RIO to be held at GSSAP Columbia University's Studio X in Rio de Janeiro.
The seminar is based on student-led fieldwork, as part of the MSc Spatial Design Architecture and Cities programme at The Bartlett School of Architecture and the EDR module (E-merging Design Research). It will bring together architects, researchers and academics from London, Rio de Janeiro and other parts of the world to debate ideas about designed interventions and emergent urbanism, in the hope that architecture can make a meaningful difference in the cities we live, rather than simply confirm the prevailing conditions.
