The Bartlett's Sir Bannister Fletcher Lecturer in Architecture and BSc Year 1 Director, Frosso Pimenides, is one of 13 people selected by The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to receive a 2015 Honorary Fellowship.
RIBA Honorary Fellowships are awarded annually to people who have made a particular contribution to architecture in its broadest sense. This includes its promotion, administration and outreach; and its role in building more sustainable communities and in the education of future generations. Pimenides is described by RIBA as "a natural-born academic who through her efforts in opening the minds of so many young students, and above all making them hungry to immerse themselves in the subject of architecture, has enriched the profession immeasurably".
Awarded in 2012 for her outstanding contribution to teaching in the UCL Provost’s Teaching Awards, Pimenides has for the past 20 years been an essential part of The Bartlett School of Architecture, running the Year 1 course for that entire period.
The Honorary Fellowships will be awarded at an event at Portland Place on 3 February 2015.
