IGP RELIEF Centre – Institute for Global Prosperity
Lebanon is currently experiencing several intersecting crises: infrastructural incapacity, economic instability, a global health pandemic, a suspended refugee problem, and severe government corruption culminating in an explosion on 4th August at the Beirut port. Simultaneously, a series of social uprisings since October 2019 have sought to imagine possibilities of a different Lebanon. This two-day virtual conference will address how these crises have impacted the lives and livelihoods of people living and working in Lebanon and critically reflect on RELIEF's research, engagement with the partners, lessons learnt and how to move forward.
Speakers include Professor Henrietta L Moore (UCL Institute for Global Prosperity), Professor Howayda Al-Harithy (Beirut Urban Lab, AUB ), Dr Nikolay Mintchev (IGP, RELIEF Centre), Nadine Bekdache (Public Works Studio), Dr Barbar Akle (LAU), Dr Nadim Farajallah (IFI AUB), Mona Hallak (AUB NI), Dr Camillo Boano (UCL Development Planning Unit), Dr Fadi Alhalabi (Multi Aid Programs - MAPs), Joana Dabaj (CatalyticAction), Suha Tutunji (Jusoor Syria) and many more.
All events are free and open to all. Register for the full conference or book a session.
