Institute for Global Prosperity
Nick Kimber was recently appointed Director of Strategy and Policy Design at Camden Council but over the last year has led the Council’s economic development team. He will talk about the pivot away from a traditional economic development approach towards an inclusive economy. This includes the development of the Good Work Camden programme (transforming employment support in the borough), and the establishment of Camden’s Renewal Commission (co-chaired by Cllr Georgia Gould and Prof. Mariana Mazzucato from UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose).
Nick has also explored Universal Basic Services at a local level, working with the IGP, and is a Camden sponsor of the Institute’s work on a citizen-led index of prosperity in Euston.
In Nick’s new role, he is interested in how policy can be designed with citizens, privileging lived experience in how services and policy are developed, evaluated and governed. He hope’s you’ll have some great ideas about this and it will lead to active collaboration on the ground!
