The UCL Institute for Global Prosperity and the RELIEF Centre partners invite you to the UK launch of the RELIEF Centre on Tuesday 24th April, 09:30 - 17:00, at the British Museum.
Join us in the BP Lecture Theatre at the British Museum for an all day event featuring speeches from distinguished guests including the President and Provost of UCL Professor Michael Arthur, the President of the American University of Beirut, Mr Edward Asseily, the Centre for Lebanese Studies, the CEO of the ESRC, the Lebanese Ambassador and the Principal Investigator for RELIEF Professor Henrietta Moore.
In the afternoon, Professor Henrietta Moore will deliver a keynote speech about inclusive prosperity in Lebanon. This will be followed by forums featuring the RELIEF team and invited guests on urban governance, education delivery and new technologies, public service provision, and innovations in data and data analysis.
The day will also feature:
A performance from the London-based, Syrian-Oud player Rihab Azar
"Beirut Soundscape" a curated audio experience taking you on a journey through the different areas of Beirut, recorded in the city by sound recordist Tania Kammoun and Elias Chikhani
Two poetry recitals from poet and RELIEF Co-Investigator Dr Fouad M. Fouad, and the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity's poet-in-residence, Cameron Holleran.
