The Special Issue of Studies in Conservation dedicated to the 10th LACONA Conference on Lasers in the Conservation of Artworks in Sharjah, 2014, has just been published Open Access on Maney Online

The conference, organised in the Arab region for the first time, involved 41 talks, 41 poster presentations and 110 participants from 25 different countries. The Special Issue is a representative cross-section of the contributions, including two papers from the Institute for Sustainable Heritage, one on laser cleaning of papyrus, and another one about preventive conservation of painting canvases at the National Museum of Art of Catalonia.

The issue was co-edited by Professor Matija Strlic, in a joint editorial effort with Dr Abdelrazek Elnaggar (University of Fayoum), Dr Austin Nevin (Politecnico di Milano) and Dr Marta Castillejo (Institute of Physical Chemistry "Rocasolano" – CSIC).
