Code-based software, analytical tools, and algorithms have significant potential to innovate the scientific investigation, management, operations, and engagement for heritage and heritage organisations. GitHub is a collaborative repository for these tools, with an emphasis on open access. Organised by Dr Scott Orr, this practical workshop will take you through the principals of Github using several case studies. It will demonstrate how heritage teams and organisations may use it their advantage, especially by drawing on the vast array of open access resources available on it. This workshop is relevant to students, early-career researchers, technical professionals, and those involved in the management and operation of scientific and analytic teams within heritage organisations.
Please note that the workshop will run between 2.00pm until 5.00pm.
