Founding Director and Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value

UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)

Mariana Mazzucato is Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London, where she is Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose (IIPP). Her previous posts include the RM Phillips Professorial Chair at the Science Policy Research Unit at Sussex University. She is a member of the UK Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) and the Italian Academy of Sciences Lincei.

Baroness Chapman was appointed Minister of State (International Development, Latin America and Caribbean) in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office on 28 February 2025.

Before that she was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office between 18 July 2024 and 28 February 2025.

Kate Raworth (sounds like ‘Ray-worth’) is a renegade economist focused on making economics fit for 21st century realities. She is the creator of the Doughnut of social and planetary boundaries, and co-founder of Doughnut Economics Action Lab. Her internationally best-selling book Doughnut Economics: seven ways to think like a 21st century economist has been translated into over 20 languages and has been widely influential with diverse audiences.
