Accelerate Summer Exhibition 2024
Open City presents their exhibition Accelerate which celebrates the work of three classes of students who have worked with the charity to equip themselves to pursue careers in the built environment industries.

Accelerate was established by the charity Open City. It supports young people (aged 16-18) from under-represented backgrounds to pursue careers in the built environment industries and equips them with the skills, portfolios, networks and the confidence to make informed career choices.
This is a chance to celebrate the amazing work made by three classes of students exhibiting in the Accelerate Exhibition at The Bartlett School of Architecture Bloomsbury campus.
All are welcome to celebrate alongside friends, family and everyone who helped bring the course together this year. There will be refreshments and speeches throughout the evening.
About Accelerate
Accelerate provides young people aged 16-18, from under-represented backgrounds, with a platform to create, express and develop their ideas as they consider their futures.
Throughout the course students explore careers in the built environment industries and develop the skills, portfolios, networks and confidence to make informed progression choices.
The course consists of 10 skills development workshops between October and April, which includes visits to university campuses and sites across London while engaging with topics pertinent to discourse in the sector.
In addition students are delegated into groups to professional practices operating in the built environment for a series of mentoring sessions to gain real work experience in the industry.
The programme was established by Open City, a charity which has dedicated the last 30 years to making London’s architecture more open, accessible and equitable.
