BSP Public Lecture: Regulating short-term rental housing in the age of digital platforms
Social conflicts, urban governance and regulatory enforcement in European cities.

We are thrilled to warmly welcome all back to campus to join us for our third Public Lecture of the 2022-23 series.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception in the Haldane Room (Wilkins Building).
In this lecture, Claire will present the results of a research project comparing the debates, socio-political conflicts, and implementation challenges surrounding the regulation of platform-mediated short-term rental housing in 12 European cities. The project’s report obtained the 2022 RTPI Sir Peter Hall Award for Excellence in Research and Engagement (with Dr Tatiana Moreira de Souza).
Claire Colomb has a background in social and political sciences and planning studies. Her research is concerned with socio-political conflicts around urban development processes and the role of planning and public policies in shaping the transformation of the built environment at different levels, from local to European.
