HIPSTERFICATION
Lecturer's Abstract
Christoph Lindner compares the conditions of hyper-creativity in Amsterdam and Portland and explores, within them, the phenomenon of hipsterfication (gentrification-by-hipster). He focusses on what happens when cities fetishise creativity and embrace excess in the pursuit of accelerated development.
