Professor Jacqueline McGlade to give 41st TB Macaulay Lecture
The challenge of Sustainable Development: From global UN policy to local community survival in the face of climate change

Professor Jacqueline McGlade, Professor of Resilience and Sustainable Development at the Institute for Global Prosperity, will give the 41st TB Macaulay Lecture in Edinburgh this year.
Each year the Macaulay Development Trust, in partnership with the James Hutton Institute, hosts a world-renowned guest speaker for its annual TB Macaulay lecture. This year we have been lucky enough to secure Professor Jacqueline McGlade, former UN Chief Scientist and Director of the UN Environmental Programme.
This year's lecture will focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Prof. McGlade will discuss the lives and experiences of those facing the day-to-day challenges associated with climate change. She will share insights from her work in Kenya, and will draw on her experience at the UN, sharing the lessons learnt during the development and implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as discussing their practical impact.
