For and Against: Art, Politics and the Pamphlet

Urban Pamphleteer will take part in For and Against: Art, Politics and the Pamphlet, a two-day research and public 'festival' event organised by Loughborough University in May 2017. The event responds to research into the political pamphlet and exploring the relevance of the pamphlet for contemporary art practice.
Friday 26 May 2017: Research symposium
Fearon Hall, Loughborough
Ben Campkin and Rebecca Ross (founders and editors of Urban Pamphleteer) will speak at the one-day symposium, which will include a range of speakers, performances and rants. The event runs 11.00 - 17.00 and will be followed by the public opening of an exhibition from collections of historical and contemporary pamphlets For & Against! The Art of the Pamphlet at the Charnwood Museum, Loughborough.

Saturday 27 May 2017: Public event
Charnwood Museum, Loughborough Library and Queens Park, Loughborough
This day-long event will include a range of public activity including live performative elements by artists commissioned by Radar, a 'market place' of stalls, exhibitions displaying collections of historical and contemporary pamphlets inside the library and museum, and lots of opportunities for participation.
