Interpreting government workplace change: a trans-Atlantic comparison
11 December 2015
This paper offers an account of the entangled connection between organisational and spatial design transformation. Threads of continuity and points of divergence are identified by comparing two case studies of workspace change drawn from the UK Civil Service and US Federal Government. The paper casts light on the justifications used by government institutions for introducing workspace change and suggests that emerging work on the ‘entanglement’ of the social and material may provide a useful research framework for interpreting and evaluating outcomes.
Interpreting government workplace change: a trans-Atlantic comparison. Presented at: APROS/EGOS Conference on Spaces, Constraints, Creativities: Organization and Disorganization Sydney.
