What do you expect the possible career paths to be and is there any assistance offered to the alumni?

See the main programme page for a discussion on career paths and potential job titles.

As an alumnus of the programme, you will be part of the Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering alumni network - check out the UCL IEDE Linkedin page. The quality of the education and the graduates of IEDE programmes is already recognized in the industry. In addition to the IEDE network, we will be setting up an alumni network for this programme graduates, which may not help the first cohort but should provide longer-term opportunities. In addition, the UCL careers office provides career support to all graduates.

What are the academic requirements for this programme?

This programme is targeted at students of an engineering (e.g. civil, mechanical, building services engineering) or science (e.g. physics, mathematics, computer science) background that aim to drive engineering innovation in the built environment domain, or wish to further pursue a research career in the field.

The programme will also be relevant for early- and mid-career professionals who want to expand their technical skills and knowledge, and keep abreast of the latest developments in their field. A flexible mode of study, as well as PG Cert or PG Dip routes, provide flexibility in the adaptation of the program to an individual’s needs and aspirations and allows professionals to continue with their career while studying.

Entry requirements

For applicants without a first degree, but with relevant and substantial work experience in the field, a special qualifying examination may be set. Details can be obtained by contacting the Bartlett’s Graduate Faculty Office.
