Biography
Dr. Rui Tang became a Lecturer in Smart Buildings
and Digital Engineering at Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering,
UCL in February 2021. His research topics mainly focus on building optimal design
& control, thermal/electricity load prediction, grid-building interaction
including demand-side management and electricity pricing. Before joining UCL,
he worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) as Senior Scientific
Engineering Associate. Rui received his Ph.D. degree in Building Services
Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017, and Master degree
in Architecture and Civil Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology in
2014.
Rui is
a review board member of academic journal "Science and Technology for
the Built Environment" and invited reviewers of several peer-reviewed
journals, such as Applied Energy, Energy and Buildings, etc. His research was
awarded the 2018 best paper of ICAE (International Conference of Applied
Energy).
