Andrea is an architect and sustainability consultant with several-years-experience working in Italy, Spain, Australia and the UK.After attending an MSc in Sustainable Design at the University of Edinburgh in 2012 he deepened his interest in sustainability working with Ryder Architecture and later joined the University of Surrey as a Research Officer to work on a EU-funded research project looking at strategies for achieving nearly-zero energy office building.In 2019 he completed an Engineering Doctorate with the University of Surrey and PRP Architects, looking at climate change adaptation for residential buildings, and specifically focusing on assessing the risk of indoor overheating for typical urban flats for present and future climates.While based at PRP, he was involved in a wide range of sustainability assessments, which involved daylight and sunlight studies, Post-Occupancy Evaluation, thermal comfort and overheating analyses, Whole-Life Carbon assessments.He worked with the Sustainable Places team at WSP, which allowed him to conduct quantitative assessments and manage projects pursuing BREEAM, LEED and WELL accreditation, as well as pushing R&D on sustainability and urban analytics.As a Sustainability Champion at WilkinsonEyre, he runs ‘green’ design reviews on live projects and competitions; provides performance-driven sustainable design advice, dissemination and training.
