Duties and Responsibilities

The UCL Institute for Environmental Design & Engineering (UCL IEDE) delivers world-leading research, teaching and enterprise towards a goal of making our buildings, towns and cities better places in which to live, with a focus on health, human well-being, productivity, energy use and climate change.

We are seeking a research fellow/computer scientist to take part in a new European Commission Horizon 2020 project, named COGITO (Construction-phase digital Twin mOdel). This is an opportunity to join an international multi-disciplinary project and contribute to the development of a software platform for the management and data integration of BIM and IoT data.

The successful applicant will act as the COGITO project scientific manager. The successful applicant will work closely with other members of the project towards the extracting requirements that can lead to the design of the platform and specification of the overall software architecture.

This post is available for 12 months in the first instance, further funding may be available.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate has excellent knowledge and expertise in enterprise software development technologies and good knowledge of BIM and IoT technologies and protocols. Additionally the ideal candidate should have prior experience managing and leading international multi-partner and multi-disciplinary projects.
