Register for the Linked Data in Architecture and Construction (LDAC) 2018 workshop

11 June 2018

The 6th LDAC workshop will be held from June 19-21, 2018 at the University College London (UCL). This year the event will feature keynote presentations by Ed Parsons (Google) and Tom Heath (Arup).

LDAC-2018

The LDAC workshop provides a focused overview on technical and applied research on the usage of semantic web, linked data and web of data technologies for architecture, construction (design, engineering construction, operation, etc.).

The workshop aims at gathering researchers, industry stakeholders, and standardisation bodies of the broader Linked Building Data (LBD) community. This includes the building SMART Linked Data Working Group (LDWG) participants and the W3C LBD Community Group participants. The aim of the workshop is to present current developments, coordinate efforts, gather stakeholders, and elaborate use cases.

The main aim of this year’s workshop is to evaluate the current status of the different available ontologies to capture building data. Aside the development and usage of these ontologies, the purpose of the LDAC workshop is to also investigate ways in which the ontology-based data can be combined into a complete and holistic set of available building data.

Registration is open until the 14th of June 2018.

The event is hosted and organised by Ken Enright (Arup) and Dimitrios Rovas (MSc IBSDO Programme Director).

Building data, ontologies and Building Information Modelling will have a significant influence in understanding of our buildings and influence the way future buildings will be operated. This aspect is extensively covered in our new MSc in Integrated Building Systems Design and Operation.
