The event provided an opportunity for students to meet, advertise and discuss the innovative research they are undertaking as well as raise the profile of their work among the built environment community.

The event was a great success, showcasing the diverse and cutting edge research topics, with over 300 votes cast for the entries. UCL IEDE were pleased to announce first prize to Rochelle for her poster titled: "Exploring the Urban Heat Island's Contribution to Indoor Overheating using Remote Sensing", and the second prize to Yair for poster titled: "Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithms for Life Cycle Carbon Footprint and Life Cycle Cost Minimisation: a Refurbishment Case Study".

The student's submissions were judged by a panel consisting of UCL IEDE Director, Mike Davies and Deputy Director, Dejan Mumovic and external judges; Pangiotis Patlakas (Southampton Solent University) as well as an online public vote, which was considered 50:50 with the judges.

UCL IEDE looks forward to hosting this as an annual event in coming years.
