Summer schools and masterclasses
The Bartlett Summer Schools provide students aged 18 and under with an engaging introduction to architecture and design, hosted at UCL’s central London campus. These programmes offer a unique opportunity to experience student life at a globally renowned institution, with tailored options available for different age groups.
Designed specifically for those considering a future in architecture, the courses offer a first look into The Bartlett’s approach. Through a mix of individual and collaborative activities, students explore architecture as a collective discipline, while gaining insight into the broader societal influences that shape our built environment.

Experience placements
Are you looking for work experience in an academic setting?
As part of The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources’ outreach efforts, the Nuffield Research Placement programme offers sixth-form students a unique opportunity to engage in real-world research alongside academic staff. Through hands-on projects in areas such as urban energy modelling and sustainability, students gain valuable insight into university-level research and develop key skills in data analysis, critical thinking, and scientific communication. The experience is designed to inspire future pathways into STEM and foster a deeper understanding of the societal impact of energy and environmental research.
