UCL-Energy’s report calling on Government to reassess its approach to energy efficiency in non-domestic buildings has been published by the Climate Change Committee, which commissioned the report to inform its influential ‘Next Steps for UK Heat Policy’ review.

The report, led by Honorary Research Fellow Dr. Peter Mallaburn, shows how the UK can kickstart business energy efficiency by making policies work together to stimulate investment in low carbon buildings and technologies, including learning from successful efforts in Australia and Germany.

Dr. Mallaburn said:

“The UK needs nothing short of an energy efficiency revolution. Other countries have shown that the right incentives delivered in the right way can lead to a fundamental shift in low carbon investment.

"Offices in Melbourne are twice as efficient as London. Our policies are simply going to have to get a whole lot smarter if we are to catch up”.
