UCL-Energy hosts building performance events

19 June 2013

On Tuesday 12 June 2013 the UCL Energy Institute hosted two events exploring building performance.

energy use

'Building Performance: The Bigger Picture' gave 60 PhD students from around the world the opportunity to learn from Bill Bordass and Adrian Leaman of The Usable Buildings Trust. The afternoon enabled students to think about their own research in the context of the social, technical and political environment.

Following the afternoon masterclass, Bill Bordass presented to over 200 attendees at the Inaugural George Henderson Memorial Lecture 'Improving building performance: Sparing no expense to get something on the cheap?' Bill addressed why the quest for more sustainable, lower-energy buildings seems to be turning into a complicated, expensive and bureaucratic obstacle race; and what we might do to change this.
