'Understanding energy and the non-domestic building stock', BR&I remembers Harry Bruhns

17 December 2013

Harry Bruhns BR&I

The January/February 2014 issue of Building Research and Information has been published to celebrate the career and research of Harry Bruhns (1951-2011), a Principal Research Associate at the UCL Energy Institute.

A common theme is the nature and performance of the building stock, in particular the non-domestic stock and its use of energy. Harry's pioneering and inspiring work was concerned with developing improved data resources on enegry use in non-domestic buildings, developing tools to help better match building users requirements to the actual building performance, applying GIS to the building stock, and contributing to the construction and analysis of a number of large databases of buildings and their use of energy.
