Faisal Aseeri

Learn about Faisal Aseeri, Development Planning MPhil/PhD student starting his studies in 2023.

I am a dedicated MPhil/PhD student with a strong interest in disaster management, public health, emergency preparedness, and incident command systems. My research centers on the intersection of disaster management and public health. I am particularly interested in exploring how incident command systems and emergency preparedness can be leveraged to enhance community resilience in the face of natural and man-made disasters.

My academic background has played a pivotal role in shaping my dedication to this field. I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), which provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the critical role of emergency medical response in disaster situations. Subsequently, I pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Healthcare Emergency Management, further deepening my knowledge and expertise in this crucial area.

My professional experience has been shaped by collaborations with organizations dedicated to disaster response and public health. I have had the privilege of working with the Saudi Red Crescent, contributing to emergency medical services and disaster relief efforts. Additionally, my association with Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) has allowed me to engage in healthcare management and disaster preparedness projects of global significance. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I served on the frontlines with the Saudi Ministry of Health in a clinical capacity, gaining valuable experience in managing public health emergencies.

Furthermore, my academic journey has come full circle as I now serve as a lecturer at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah. This role allows me to bridge the worlds of academia and practice, sharing my knowledge and insights with the next generation of healthcare and emergency management professionals.
