Transition Town Brixton: Incredible Edible Lambeth

Focusing on Transition Town Brixton (TTB), this research project seeks to, firstly, examine the viability of urban community-based initiatives in catalysing a transition from fossil fuel dependency to a low-carbon sustainable society, and secondly, to explore how the aims of environmental sustainability may relate to the demands of social justice. As a key TTB initiative within the focus of the project, Incredible Edible Lambeth is a network of 123 (and counting) food growing groups in Brixton and the local borough who work together to ensure that healthy, sustainable, locally produced food is available to everyone living in LBL, regardless of income.
