In the KNOW #5
Knowledge in Action for Urban Equality

20 July 2021
About this issue
Over the past months, the Knowledge in Action for Urban Equality (KNOW) team has been working tirelessly to mitigate the negative impacts caused by severe cuts to programmes funded by UK Official Development Assistance (ODA). Issue 5 of In the KNOW was produced in this context, with the introduction and lead piece examining the significance of these cuts, by putting them into their historic context, analysing the ways in which funding – specifically for urban research in the global South – has significantly shifted throughout the evolution of UK aid obligations, changing domestic priorities, and the global ODA landscape. Issue 5 also showcases how KNOW’s Work Packages and City Partners have managed to continue their engagements in a wide range of exciting research and capacity-building activities despite all adversities.
