Preservation management modelling in archive and library collections
This project explores modelling and simulation paradigms of complex systems, such as system dynamics (SD) and agent-based simulations (ABS), to evaluate the effect of preservation actions during the lifetime of collections. The aim is to develop a mathematical tool that supports memory institutions with the complex decision-making process of collections management, to optimize at least one of four competing outcomes—preservation, cost, sustainability, and accessibility. My experience as conservator working in an archive will be a valuable asset to the project.
